“While some people have seen lanterns being released into the night sky, our lanterns stay firmly on the ground,” explained Sanjay Syal, President & CEO of Pinnacle Production Group. “Hundreds of lanterns will illuminate the night, including a four-hundred-foot long Dragon, a 30-foot-tall Panda, a Castle you can walk through, lantern tunnels, and a tribute to Prince. A team of Chinese artisans needed three months to complete our hand-crafted lanterns, which are made of sculpted steel frames filled with LED lights, and covered with brilliantly colored silk-like fabric.”

In addition to seeing the gigantic lanterns, the festival promises fun for the whole family, with Chinese acrobats, a Wishing Tree, live music, and food. Activities for children include mining for emeralds, inflatable mazes and obstacle courses, Dragon and virtual reality rides.

The event runs from September 7 to October 22, 2017, Thursday through Sunday, 6pm to 11pm through  October 1, 5pm to 11pm October 5 through October 22, Canterbury Park, 1100 Canterbury Road, Shakopee, MN 55379.Ticket prices range from $18 to $23, with group pricing and activity packages available.

The History of the Lantern Light Festival
